NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the regular municipal election of the Town of Dove Creek, Colorado, scheduled for April 7, 2026, has been cancelled.
Pursuant to Colorado Revised Statutes § 31-10-507, when at the close of business on the sixty-fourth (64th) day before the election there are not more candidates than offices to be filled, including candidates filing affidavits of intent for write-in candidacy, the governing body may cancel the election and declare the candidates elected.
The Town of Dove Creek adopted Ordinance No. 1, Series 2024, amending the Municipal Code to authorize cancellation of elections under such circumstances.
By adoption of Resolution No. 2, Series 2026, the Board of Trustees formally cancelled April 7, 2026, regular municipal election in accordance with C.R.S. § 31-10-507 and Town Code.
As set forth in the Resolution, the following candidates are hereby declared elected to the indicated offices for terms commencing April 7, 2026:
- Kevin Hall – Trustee – Four (4) Year Term
- Jason Gray – Trustee – Four (4) Year Term
Vacancies remain for:
- One (1) Trustee – Four (4) Year Term
- Two (2) Trustee – Two (2) Year Terms
- One (1) Mayor – Four (4) Year Term
This notice is given in accordance with C.R.S. § 31-10-507 and the Town of Dove Creek Municipal Code and shall be posted as required by law.
