The 4th of July Pick-n-Hoe celebration started over 60 years ago as a celebration of the agriculture and mining heritage and Independence Day! It is a time for friends and family to gather and enjoy a fun filled day of games for all ages, parade, live music, traditional pig chase, rock drilling contest, wonderful pit barbecued meat and a great fireworks display put on by the local Dove Creek Volunteer Fire Department.
